How to Commission Your Pet's Portrait  

First, decide what size portrait you'd like 

Click on the Price List link at the left for complete portrait size and pricing information. 

All portrait prices include mounting with acid-free hinge to an acid-free white mat mount.  This protects the life your portrait.  Your portrait will arrive ready to frame.  If you prefer, framing is available at a reasonable extra cost.   Postage and packaging is included in the portrait price for all orders shipped within the UK.   

Second, find your favourite photos of your pet

For best results I need a clear well-lit photo that shows your pet in a pose you'd like to see in your portrait.  Most portraits are head studies, so remember that your pet's features - face and eyes - are what give your pet its unique personality.  I need to be able to see them clearly.

 No photos?  Time to get snapping!  If your pet won't hold still then enlist the help of a friend or two to hold him/her by the collar and get their attention while you take photos.  People can be painted out of the portrait.  The more photos the better, but aim for clear, focused pictures that show detail and fur colour well.  Outdoor lighting is great but avoid very bright sunlight as this can wash out the colours of your pet.

 Payment 

 When your portrait is complete I will send you an email with a preview for your approval.  Payment is due after you have previewed the portrait and before it is shipped.  Within the UK you can pay via personal cheque, postal order or Paypal using your credit card.  

Outside the UK I accept Paypal only.  Paypal payments are sent over their secure website and are the fastest and safest way to send your payment. 

 Your pet portrait will be shipped by Royal Mail Special Delivery if in the UK, or by International Signed For post overseas.
