Answers to Frequently Asked Questions

I've tried to list most of the questions here that I get about pet portrait orders.  If your own questions are unanswered here, please contact me and I'll get right back to you.

Q:  How long does it take for a portrait to be done?

A:  Most portraits can be completed within a week or two, depending on my current workload.  Before Christmas is a busy time, so if you're planning a Christmas gift, ordering as early as possible is always a good idea.  Please contact me if you need something for a particular date -- I always try to work in all requests if possible.

Q:  Can you paint a portrait with more than one animal in the picture?

A:  You can have more than one subject in a portrait.  Each additional animal is charged at an additional flat rate of £25.  Please keep in mind that you will want to choose a portrait size large enough for more pets.  The smallest size (6 x 4) is only suitable for one subject.  If you need help choosing, just ask me.

Q:  I'd love to get a portrait for my sister's birthday but it's next week and I don't think I have enough time.  Can you help?

A:  Sometimes the best ideas are the ones that we get at the last minute.  That's why I also sell Gift Vouchers for portrait work.  Just specify the portrait size you want to pay for, or a monetary amount you'd like the voucher to be made out for, and as soon as I get your payment I'll pop it into the post for you.  You can get it as soon as the next day!  The lucky person who receives it from you can use it to pay for any portrait they want to order for themselves.  It's that easy!

Q:  Do I have to pay a deposit when I order?

A:  Nope.  You don't need to pay anything until your portrait is finished and you have been sent an email with a photo of your portrait to preview.  Please note:  orders over £100 may require a 10% deposit.

Q:  Can I send you my pet's photo in an email?

A:  Of course.  Send them to me at:  carriehorth@aol.com , along with your request.  You can send photos in the post as well - I'll return them to you as soon as your portrait is finished.

Q:  I'm concerned about sending my payment online.

A:  Don't worry.  I accept all my online payments through Paypal only.  It's a secure and trusted site that handles millions of payments each  year.  If you aren't registered with Paypal yet, just go to:  www.paypal.com.  Or I'll send you an invoice with a link that tells you exactly how to send your money.  If you live here in the UK you can also pay by personal cheque (with cheque guarantee card) or postal order.  Cash payments are sent at your own risk and not recommended.  Please be aware that cheques will be held for 5 working days before portraits are shipped.  Sorry, but outside of the UK I can accept Paypal only.
 

Q:  How can I be sure that I'll be satisfied with my portrait?

A:  Once I complete your pet portrait, I'll send you an email with a photo of it for you to preview.  You'll be able to see the finished result before you pay.  I've never had anything other than happy, pleased portrait customers.  You can click here to read some of my portrait customers' comments.  If for some reason the portrait is not what you expected, then you are under no obligation to buy it.
